Data, disparity, discrimination & outcomes

Assuming discrimination towards group X as the cause of different group outcomes is not right:

  1. Correlation does not imply causation.
  2. Disparity in outcomes does not imply discrimination.
  3. If discrimination is present, it does not necessarily mean it is effective and causing the disparity.

When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear.
